Remix · repurpose

Say it once. Post it in any voice.

A transcript is the starting point, not the product. Found a video worth learning from? Parlin pulls the full script into text you keep in your notes, and Remix rewrites it in your tone: a script you record yourself, in your own words, not someone else's clip reposted. Your own footage? Remix burns the captions straight in, sized for Reels. Either way, nothing leaves your Mac.

Two ways to get it

Same core. Pick how far it reaches.

Both process your audio and transcripts on your Mac. Parlin manages the local cleanup model after its first download. The direct version reaches into every app and pulls transcripts from links. Apple’s sandbox does not allow that, so the App Store version pastes from your clipboard.

What it replaces

Five apps in one. Paid once.

Parlin does the job of a dictation app, a meeting notetaker, a file transcriber, a subtitle generator, and a content repurposing tool. Here is what you pay if you buy those separately.

How Parlin compares

Local and paid once. Nothing else does both.

Cloud apps (Wispr Flow) send your voice to a server. Local apps (Superwhisper) run on device but charge a subscription and require you to bring your own API key for AI cleanup. Parlin downloads and manages its cleanup model, runs it on your Mac, and you pay once.

What about the free apps?

Free dictation tools exist, from built-in voice input to open source projects, and for basic dictation some are good. Here's what $39 buys instead: meeting transcription with speaker names, transcription of any file or link (a 2-hour MP4, a YouTube URL), a bundled on-device model that polishes your words after one automatic download with no API key, and 90+ languages, not just English. Free tools ship the dictation part. Parlin ships the whole voice workflow, and someone answers the support email.

Hold Fn, talk, and clean text lands in any app. Scroll to pull Parlin apart and meet the three layers that pull it off, all on your Mac.

On your Mac · no audio upload · no app tracking

Your words never leave your Mac.

Cloud dictation apps stream your voice to a server they own. Parlin runs speech and cleanup on your Mac, so there's no audio to send anywhere.

The cloud round-trip

Other dictation apps

  1. You talk into your mic
  2. Your audio gets uploaded to their server
  3. Their model runs it in their data center
  4. Their staff can read it. It sits on their disk.
Never leaves your Mac

Parlin

  1. You talk into your mic
  2. A local speech engine turns it into text on your Mac
  3. Cleanup AI runs on your Mac too
  4. Audio and text stay on your disk. No upload, ever.

The app sends no audio, transcripts, or usage analytics. After the models are installed, transcription and cleanup work without Wi-Fi. In 2025, a meeting-AI tool called Cluely had a breach that exposed 83,000 users' interview transcripts. Parlin has no transcription server holding your meetings: your audio never leaves the Mac.

See it in motion

Voice in. Clean text out.

Four phases, start to finish. Hold Fn, talk, watch the words land, then watch the cleanup tidy them. The whole loop runs on your Mac.

Works everywhere

One shortcut. Every app you type into.

Parlin is not a writing app you switch into. Hold Fn wherever your cursor already is and the cleaned text lands right there. Mail, your editor, the URL bar, a Slack reply, a Notion page. If you can type in it, you can talk into it.

The cleanup philosophy

Your voice. Just better written.

Most AI tools rewrite your message in their voice. Parlin fixes what’s broken (grammar, capitals, punctuation) and leaves the rest alone. You said it. It just reads better.

Voice to clean text, on-device, in a second or two.

One-time model setup

Parlin downloads the cleanup model for you.

On first use, Parlin downloads the cleanup model once and runs it right on your Mac. No Ollama to install, no account, and no key to paste. After the download, cleanup works offline. The Direct build can also use your own Ollama model from Settings.

No account. No subscription. Audio and transcripts stay on your Mac.

More than dictation

It runs your meetings, files, and links.

Dictation is the start. Record a meeting, transcribe any file, or grab any video or audio link to remix and repurpose. It all stays yours, on your Mac. A free dictation app does none of this.

Meetings

Record a call, get speaker-labeled notes and a summary. A local AI coach watches the conversation and suggests sharp questions to ask in real time, refreshing as the topic shifts. Meeting audio and transcripts stay on your Mac.

Files

Drop an audio or video file, even an hour long. Get the full transcript plus optional SRT or VTT subtitle files. Supports MP4, MOV, M4A, MP3, WAV, and FLAC.

Repurpose

Paste a YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, or Facebook video URL. Get the transcript in seconds, then remix it into a thread, a post, or a script. Parlin processes the downloaded media locally. Direct build only.

Live transcription

Watch the words land as you speak. Dictation modes: Exact (raw transcript), Clean (grammar fix), Polished (full cleanup), or Summary. A live correction flash shows edits as they happen.

It is light. Parlin runs well on a Mac with an M1 chip and 8 GB of memory, the entry-level model most people own, and feels faster on newer ones. Some other on-device dictation apps load much bigger models that want a 16 GB Mac.

Multilingual · 99 languages

Talk in your language. Get text in any language.

Transcription runs on your Mac in all 99 languages. English and 24 European languages run on the fast Parakeet engine, text in about a fifth of a second; the rest run on Whisper. Speak one language and paste another with on-device translation. The bundled cleanup LLM tidies Latin-script languages out of the box.

Fast engine · Parakeet · English, Bulgarian, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Maltese, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish and Ukrainian. Everything else, including Persian, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Hindi and Turkish, runs on Whisper.

Before you buy

The questions that actually matter.

Is my dictation private?

Yes, and you can verify it instead of trusting us: turn Wi-Fi off. Dictation, cleanup, meetings, and summaries all still work, because everything runs on your Mac. Your audio and transcripts are never uploaded, so there is nothing on a server to leak, subpoena, or train on.

Does it work offline?

Fully, after a one-time model download when you first run it. Planes, secure sites, dead hotel Wi-Fi: the whole app keeps working.

Do I need a subscription, account, or API key?

No, none of the three. Parlin is $39 once (rising to $69 on Oct 31, 2026), and every update to version 1 is free. There is no account to create and no API key to paste.

Can it transcribe an Instagram or YouTube link?

Paste the link and the transcript appears in seconds. From there, caption it, remix it in your tone, and save it as a PDF or Markdown file next to your notes, so a video you liked becomes a document you keep and a script you can record as your own post. Link transcription ships in the version sold on this site; both versions transcribe any audio or video file you drop on them.

Which apps does it work in?

Any app you can type in. Hold Fn, talk, and clean text lands in Mail, Slack, Cursor, your terminal, a browser tab, anywhere the cursor is.

Can I dictate in my own language?

Yes. Parlin understands 99 languages and notices which one you are speaking without being told. It can also translate as you go: speak in Spanish, paste in English.

Does it do more than dictation?

Meetings are the other half of Parlin. It hears both sides of a call, labels who said what, and writes the summary, the decisions, and the to-do list when you stop. No bot joins the call, and nobody on the other end sees a recorder. It also transcribes any audio or video file you drop on it.

How fast is it, really?

About 0.2 seconds from releasing the key to text on screen, and 98% accuracy on clear English speech. Speaking is close to three times faster than typing, so an hour of email becomes twenty minutes of talking.

Will it run on my Mac?

Parlin needs a Mac with Apple silicon, M1 or newer, on macOS 14.6 or later. It runs smoothly on every chip from M1 to M5. Intel Macs are not supported, because the on-device models need Apple silicon.

What happens when the 7-day trial ends?

The trial is the full app with no card required. When it ends, buy once for $39 to keep going. Nothing sneaky: no auto-charge, because we never had your card.

Can I buy Parlin for my team or company?

Yes. Five Macs or more get one invoice and a license key for every seat. Everything still runs on each Mac, so there is no server to approve and nothing leaves your network. Email support@devxgroup.io with the seat count and whether your Macs are managed by IT.

Something else on your mind? Email support@devxgroup.io and a human answers.

Why these prices

We’re honest about what costs us money and what doesn’t.

  • 01

    Why $39 on both
