Does Parlin work on my Mac?
Parlin needs an M1 or later Mac on macOS 14.6 or newer. Intel Macs are not supported.
Why does the emoji picker pop up when I hold Fn?
On a Mac the Fn key is also the Globe key, and macOS gives it its own job by default. Set it to do nothing: System Settings, then Keyboard, then “Press 🌐 key to”, then pick “Do Nothing”. Now holding Fn only talks to Parlin.
Why does Parlin ask for Accessibility permission?
Push-to-talk needs it to paste into other apps. System Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Accessibility, then toggle Parlin on.
Why does Parlin ask for Microphone permission?
Parlin needs it to hear you. System Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Microphone, then toggle Parlin on.
Dictation does nothing. What's wrong?
First check microphone access in macOS System Settings. In Parlin, open Settings, then Speech to text, and confirm a model is ready. Complete any pending model download, then try a short recording.
Why is my dictated text not getting cleaned up?
Open Settings, then Cleanup & summaries. Check that a cleanup model is downloaded and selected. If a download failed, reconnect to the internet and retry it. Also check your chosen output mode.
Where is my license key?
Check the email address you used at checkout, including spam. Activate your direct license in Parlin’s Settings, then License. If the email is missing or activation fails, contact support with your order number and purchase email. Do not send your full license key.
I bought on the App Store. Can I use the direct version?
Yes. Email your App Store receipt to support@devxgroup.io and we’ll send you a direct license at no extra charge.
Why won’t a video link import?
Online link imports require the direct version and its download helper. Check your connection and whether the link opens normally in your browser. Private, restricted, or unavailable videos may not import. You can also import a supported local audio or video file you already have.
How do I send an iPhone recording to my Mac?
In Parlin Recorder, share your recording using AirDrop and accept it on your Mac. Open the recording in Parlin for Mac. Parlin Recorder is the free iPhone companion to Parlin for Mac, which is bought on its own.
